Movies... About Heavy metal/hard rock ....

The Decline of Western Civ. part 2: It was great when it came out really showing the struggle of the metal band. but now it's just silly, cuz you look at most of the bands in the Doc. and they never got anywhere cuz, well they weren't any good... and the scene died cuz I always thought is was kinda gay anywayz... The only really cool part was Megadeth doin' In My Darkest Hour in the studio... I still watch it for that...

Airheads... Pretty good, funny, but if it came out around 4 years earlier (before the grunge invasion) it probably would have been a bigger hit. (it was delayed for about 2 years cuz of studio bullshit I heard) Some good stuff in it but overall just OK. A decent rent if tehre is NOTHING else you wanna see.

Spinal Tap... A Geat silly ass Rock band movie! Tap isn't heavy Metal they are hard rock and they ARE FUNNY! Like it goes to 11 Or "Dubbly!" You all know about this one! If you've ever been in a band then you can get the IN jokes, but even if your not a musician you can still love it. TAP IS GREAT!

Detroit Rock City... Some of the jokes didn't work and the development wasn't what it could have been. The 70's nost. was OK but not great. And most of all it was kinda anti-climatic at the end.

The Stoned Age...(originally called Tack's Chicks...) Not bad. Not Great, but not bad... Paranoid is played in the beginning but overall it's a shallow movie that kinda doesn't sit well with ya after you see it. the only char. that has a little depth is Joe... but he never, EVER stands up for himself. Maybe that's why the flick doesn't do it for me... Maybe that's what the flick is about... Not standing up... I dunno... the only thing that's cool about it is to go back and look for cars and stuff that aren't supposed to be in a 70s movie (like a 86-87 blazer) A few good 1 liners but that's it.

Dazed and Confused... The movie w/ little or no plot. Great soundtrack though. cardboard characters that mean nothing 15 minutes after you've seen it. It had the potential to be great but just wasn't.

BAD NEWS TOUR... If you've ever been in a band, you'll laugh your ass off at Bad News. If you've never been in a band, you'll STILL laugh you ass off at Bad News. This might be the best HEAVY METAL MOVIE, although its not really a movie. It's 2 ep. of the British Comedy Series: The Comic Strip Presents...
But Man is it funny! Bad News is a band that go on tour and the movie is a doc. about their ups and downs... It stars the same actors that were a part of THE YOUNG ONES (Early MTV. You know, when it was GOOD) and it captures the early 80s metal spirit completely. They also released a CD (which is 1000X funnier) and actually played at Castle Donnington. This might look like a spinal tap wannabe but is (in my opinion) FUNNIER! Check it out!
